Both on my civilian flatfender resto, and now on my M37 build, I had to cut off the old U bolts to disassemble things. When I had new ones made, I am pretty certain they were the same length, But I noticed after bolting things up, that the passenger side front apparently needs slightly longer u bolts than the driver side to get the threads to project past the nut. The passenger side has the shock bracket welded to the axle, and I wonder if this results in this difference in length.
As I said this was noticed on the civi as well as the M.
Am I imagining things here?
