In aprox. 1960 I remember being with my dad & taking his log truck to the welding shop to get some welding done on the bunks.The welder named Rollie had a 47 WDX with a westinghouse welder on back & a set of boompoles on front. I remember climbing all over it & swinging from the poles. I told him someday I would have a truck like that. In 1978 I bought that same truck after going thru a couple other owners. Still have the truck but its now a parts truck.In 1996 I bought another WDX and Rollie seen it & wanted to take a ride.I had a hard time getting that old man in the cab & we took a 10 mile ride. A couple weeks later he died but i'll never forget the smile on his face saying I forgot how loud these old trucks were.
