I guess not everyone of your generation is a shallow as most of them are. Congratulations for being willing to get your hands dirty, skin your knuckles, and learn how machines actually work. Keep it up and if times get tough and jobs are scarce, they'll be the ones trying to figure out how to communicate without i-junk, and grow their kids a frozen pizza and you'll be charging $100/hour to fix stuff for them. I've already noticed that the average plumber or mechanic charges a lot more per hour than the average college graduate gets paid.
