Varying levels of ability here. But, to get the advice, "Buy a manual" when you have two bookcases full of manuals and have been working on simple gasoline engine vehicles for more than 50 years, that advice doesn't sit well.
A manual for a Cummins, that's one thing. There's a lot to know on newer vehicles. But, for a 60 year old truck, sometimes you're just looking for tips, tricks and insight from people who have already been down the road. Or, maybe, you just want to communicate with people who have similar interests.
