Three posts in one day. Hmm. That's about enough, I think. I'll stop after this one. Anyway, I got my Poly flywheel back from Hughes Engines Monday. They included the balance sheet and weight measurements, which was nice. The tell of the tape: there's not enough meat on the Poly flywheel to drill out to equal the 360 balance. They had to bolt a piece of steel to the flywheel (lock-tited and peened the bolts), then balance it that way. It works, and they said they do that quite often in various situations. I'd have rather it been welded, but then again, welds can crack, too. Overall, I'm happy, and now you all know it can be done, using the Poly flywheel and not having to search in vain for one of Ray's flywheel spacers or attempt to make one out of an old crank flange! G'night, all!
