From what I was told, vaccines are immune suppressive — that is, they suppress your immune system, which may not return to normal for weeks to months.
The flu vaccine does weaken your immune system, so that could cause a reactivation of the varicella virus in people who have had the chicken pox. A lot of people do get sick after getting the flu shot.
