Shingles is caused by the chicken pox virus, not the flu

The flu shot is an inactivated (dead) virus used to train your immune system so it knows what to look for. There is no way to get shingles from the flu vaccine. There is also no way to get the flu from the flu vaccine.

This is true no matter which strains of flu are included in the vaccine.
