The forum is correct if your are trying to seal a double flare fitting. Double flares use no sealant. If, however, you are sealing an NPT fitting into the master cylinder, I have used Loctite 545 Pneumatic/hydraulic thread sealant. it can be bought in a small .34 fl. oz. bottle (more than enough for your need) for about $15. I have good results with it. You would probably have to buy it online, as it is more of an industrial product, rather than consumer product.
