Well, if the fluid is coming out the back of the MC, wouldn't that be the thing to fix first? I mean, fluid isn't supposed to come out there, so it has to get fixed so why not focus on that instead of imagining some possible problems elsewhere? First, does "back side" mean the side the push rod goes into, or the side the brake line comes out of?

If it's the side the push rod goes into, fluid has to be leaking past the piston. A brand new MC should not have that problem, but we don't know that you didn't perhaps take it apart on the bench to look at it and then put it back together wrong or got a wrinkle or tear in the cup.

If it's the side the brake line comes out of, then precisely where is it leaking? Does it leak around where the brass fitting goes into the cast iron, or where the flare tubing goes into the brass fitting? Clean it off good and have someone press the pedal while you look. Is there a brake light switch somewhere in the vicinity? Usually there is. See if it's leaking around that. Tapered pipe fittings must have pipe dope on them. Flare fittings must not.

A good rule of thumb for any mechanic work is "if you find something broken, fix it". Even if you don't think that should have been the problem and you think there must be some problem somewhere else. The MC is not supposed to leak fluid. Take care of that and then go chasing whatever else you think might be wrong. I agree about putting the pressure bleeder aside and doing it the old-fashioned way as well -- one less complication to deal with. But first get the leak fixed, air bubbles or no air bubbles.
