I have a pair of 1963 stamped Washington Private Bus plates off my 1948 GMC PD3751 Greyhound Bus. They were still in use on the bus when my folks bought it in 1973. I bought a pair of correct 1947 issue / stamped Washington Private Bus plates for 200.00 from a collector. Washington did not issue plates in 1948 - only a 1948 sticker for in the corner of your windshield.If you bought a new rig in 1948, you were given a pair of 1947 plates and a 1948 window sticker. So the 1947 plates would be correct on my 1948 bus. I am going to restore the plates and use them to license the bus.
