His son Edsel had a heck of a time getting the old man to understand that when the "T" was losing sales to competition with color choices, the old man balked. Once engineers and manufacturers had met the actual need, you then depended on sales and marketing to replace working equipment with the newest and "latest" gimmicks --the old man almost bankrupted the company before he agreed to replace the still functional original design with most of the heavy parts made by the Dodge Brothers !
