Holding the motor is not that much of a problem. You can use a strap wrench if necessary. But, the key is to put a sudden force on the nut before the friction and inertia of the motor are overcome. An impact wrench does that for you. But, you can just wrap the handle with a mallet.
There are many Youtube videos on how to remove the crank pulley nut if you have a problem.
