Be careful about pounding on the frame. One of my frames has the lower half splayed out so the groove is wider at one place and the frame there is twisted down.
Now that I think about it, it was probably caused by someone pounding on a wooden block held against one side of the frame while the glass was still in place.
I agree with everyone else. Sacrifice the glass, not the frame. But, if the glass is worth saving, a little time, effort and patience may still work.
