I spite of some opinions here I will say that owning quite a few ffpws they can be driven far and safely. I have close to 25k miles behind the wheel of WDX. Quite a few miles with the others also. Has a lot to do with where you live, speed and congestion. Of course driving skill is good to have too. You loose some pep with a gear change but pick up top speed. If your spoiled by a newer truck you will never be happy with a Power Wagon. My newest daily driver is a '63 so I can take old school in stride. Simple, reliable and paid for is good.
