There's plenty of advice to be had here by going back through the old forums.

How about a few photos (didn't see a link yet) and the price? Then, maybe, someone can give you some specific advice.

I'd give you my advice about trying to restore a truck which is really only good for parts. But, people don't listen. They'd rather spend $10,000 and a lot of time and effort trying to fix up a $2,000 truck than to spend $8,000 on a decent truck in the first place.

Your one photo does, however, have one red flag (besides the rust), a missing carburetor. Has the manifold been open to the elements for a long time? Do you expect the engine to run, or are you expecting to rebuild it?

What are your plans? Do you just want a runner or do you want a nice looking truck? Please don't say you are just,"going to do the brakes and get it running and drive it into town".

What are problem areas? Missing bed, rear fenders, tail gate, no winch, modified body and frame, but most of all rust. These things are rust magnets. Closely inspect underneath the truck and along the front seam on the roof.

If the clutch pedal has significant side-to-side movement, you can be pretty sure the trucks is worn out.
