Well, the truck is on the road now...first day I took it to work - about a 17mi drive...ran nice...kept up with traffic nice...on the way the pipe separated from the muffler...now it IS loud...hahaha...looks like an easy fix though...
Two things:
1) when I hit about 40 the whole truck shakes like an earthquake...43 runs smooth...anything before 40 runs smooth...I believe it's the tires...can the tires be balanced? they are 9x16s on split rims...thought about maybe swapping the front with the rear to see if that helps...
2) I'm hearing an awful lot of "noise" from the tranny...is that normal? I've checked the level of the fluid which is fine...is there an adjustment I need to do? It shifts fine...well, maybe except getting into 1st gear sometimes it just won't go in - then it will go into 1st gear easily...is there an adjustment I can do? I start off in 2nd gear and never really thought about it...hmmm...are these tranny's easy to work on? I am going to have to look it up in the shop manual...
