I use Fiske (Lubriplate) soluble oil in the cooling system of my 1949 B1PW and have been doing this ever since I bought it over 10 years ago. Steve Wataha of Rock Springs, WY showed me this trick. It really works, and I haven't noticed any bad effects from doing this. The truck cools very well in hot weather and there has been no noticeable corrosion in the cooling system. This soluble oil is used for cooling metal parts in lathes and mills, after it is mixed with water.
