There were several big projects up across the US border and through Canada in the early 1940's.

The Alaska highway was one, the Canol oil pipeline from Norman Wells to Whitehorse and up was another, and it all started with the establishment of the North West Staging Route for the AAF

There were a lot of vehicles used on those projects, and many were trashed and dumped. Most common was the Ford 4 x 2 1.5 ton and the Studebaker 2.5 ton 6 x 6, but I have photos of early Dodge 1/2 tons and later 3/4 ton Command and Carryalls, presumably around the time they were obseleted.

A lot of the stuff out of that area was rebuilt during WW2 and supplied as war aid. It's at least possible some VC Dodges were rebuilt at Mount Rainier before being supplied to Australia, and my own VC 3 hard cab pickup has a '43 rebuild plate from there.

Most of the usable stuff has been collected, but apparently there's a good number of Studebaker cabs lying around. Note that most of this is early stuff, T 202 and T 207 engineering codes.

If you can get it the 'Forgotten War' series of books by Stan Cohen has a lot of nice truck photos in it, Dodges included.
