Fred Coldwell did a nice descr1ption of the various carbs with tech sheets in the PWA a few years back. On my 1950 I switched from a flat-top E7S1 carb with vacuum advance accelerator pump to a razor back E7T2 with mechanical advance accellerator pump. Two advantages are supposed to be better acceleration on hills and being able to visually check if you are getting gas to the carb. I had to change the throttle linkage and fuel inlet line because the newer carb is rotated 90 degrees from the old one. I think you can still get these carbs from Waretown Marine. I believe they advertise in Hemmings Motor News. Good Luck.
