The Cummins trucks that I am referring to with 300-500K miles on them, are used to pull
loaded hotshots, 3 car haulers, and heavy equipment such as backhoes, day-after-day, year after year. Did you notice that you said the 53 Studebaker was on its 3rd engine?

Not ALL of us use our new Cummins trucks to pull a boat or park it in a parking garage at a law firm. I personally use the hell out of mine.

As far as prices of today vs. yesteryear - my old 57 Town Wago
n Power Wagon cost MORE when new than a 57 Corvette! The Power Wagon in its day was an expensive truck, and not often afforded by anyone other than the gov't, fire dept., or utilities.
