Well if the 3rd number is a 9, then it is either a 55 or a 56:
1955-1956 C-3-PW, 230 cu. in., Serial#'s 83944001 to 83949000
And if I read it right, yours is the 359th built in this sequence. Since it's such a low number I would ALMOST bet the farm it was built in '55.

Of course all bets are off IF the Fargo's had a different numbering seqence. I wonder if the "F" in "FC3-PW3-126" stands for Fargo?
