Harry:

Assuming what you wrote is what you actually meant to say, I disagree with your broad statement that the MU-2 was used on the W200 from 57-74. The standard factory winch installed from 1957 to 1970 as extra equipment on the W100, W200 and W300 was the Braden LU-2, as shown in sales literature and parts list for the relevant period. Your one personal observation in 1974 does not change thirteen years of documented fact. The MU-2 you saw on the 74 W200 may have been specially ordered by the dealer for that one truck, or may have been correct for 1974 only, but I do not have a 1974 parts list to check to determine which winches were available as extra equipment from the factory in 1974. If you meant to say the MU-2 was still in production in 1974, I would not disagree with that. But it was not the correct (which I interpret to mean the factory specified extra equipment) winch for the W200 from 1957 to 1970; the correct winch was the Braden LU-2. A MU-2 might have been specially ordered as an upgrade by the government or a knowledgeable dealer, but I have never seen a MU-2 on a W200 built from 1957 to 1970. I have seen a MU-3 (or MU-2A) on a few W300 from those years.
