I did that type of cowl mounting on my M37 wipers so I could use much better wiper motors.
To do so, you must figure out where the wiper shaft will come thru the cowl so you get full sweep in the right area of the windshield. You must also weld in a steel tube at the proper angle in the cowl for the shaft to come thru. Nothing about it is hard, just takes some figuring before cutting the hole etc.
It worked perfect on the M37. However, in my opinion, it would look out of place on a PW.
