Yup, same here...great vintage campers, very primitive & simple but solid. Agreed...tripod stands very unstable...basically an accident waiting to happen :)
They are very heavy but they're from an era where if you're towing you have a 383/427/460 & fuel cost wasn't a consideration.
The new ones haven't changed too much but they're much lighter but also quite costly..$20k+ for a new model. Obviously much fancier inside.
They're known to be very well built, for sure.
