318/360 driving into a NV4500 married to a NP-205 going into centered rear differential with 4.89 gears and 36 inch tires. I have done lots of conversions/engine swaps, the aforementioned, in my opinion would be the easiest. Of course you will need power steering and 4 wheel power disk brakes to name a few upgrades.

With that said, if your looking for speed in a daily driver, carry good insurance on your life. You will want to be sure your loved ones are well taken care of when you meet your end.

These trucks were never designed for speed, rather serious off road. All my old iron is Cummins Powered and can run any legal road speed. Yet for me 55 mph, maybe 60 on the interstate and your pushing the limits of the entire suspension, steering and brakes and of course the tin cab that will fold all around you. Did I mention getting the non collapsible steering column pushed thru your chest.

Buy a new turck that is designed for highway crusing at speed and keep the Power Wagon for what it is, a serious off road machine and a fun truck to drive at slower speeds.

Of course, this is my opinion, others will have their own opinon.

Paul
