My local guru, {TGP}, tells me that it has a first series, {4 stake pockets}, bed. It has a broken cast bracket on the drivers side that is also welded to the bed. So, I guess the debate would be whether or not to put the correct brackets on the bed, or put the correct brackets for the year of the truck. At this stage of the game, I'm planning to leave this bed on it since it's quite rust free and straight. Perhaps down the road, I may feel the need to make the bed correct for the year of the truck. I haven't study it in great detail, but it seems to me, I could move/eliminate the stake pockets, which would then make sense to put the pressed brackets on it. I think I know how the purists would feel about modifying an original/nice bed, but would like to hear from you guys on what you would do. I would most likely trade the bed for the correct one of equal condition if someone were in my reverse situation? In the mean time, I figure I need something to mount taillights on, and could always sell/trade them down the road, and didn't want to miss the "bus". As always, thanks for the advice, and I look forward to learning more about these trucks! Doug
