So far as coarse / fine torque, torque = friction, and friction is dependent on load, not surface area. So the tension on both threads would be the same regardleess of pitch.

But then, threads being nothing bu rolled ramps, the same load on a gentler ramp ought to be able to put a different strain on the bolt with the same load.... a quandary?

I do know the torque rules of thumb do not differentiate between thread pitchs....
