Now it can be told.
For decades, there has been an insidious Canadian plot to take over America. Oh, sure, they sound friendly when they come down here for their "holidays" but WATCH OUT!!
The evil leaders in Ottawa have been covertly trying to destroy our economy and way of life. How? There are two parts to their dastardly plan:
By smuggling bootleg FLANNEL over the border - carried by those charming "visitors," they want to completely disrupt our clothing industry.
And, two, by a campaign of misinformation and outright lies, they're trying to get Americans addicted to... MAPLE SYRUP! Once that happens, we'll be helpless to resist. We'll wake up one day to find that Dunkin Donuts has been replaced by Tim Horton's, and that curling has taken the place of our beloved national pastime.
Without the utmost vigilance on the part of every American, we could find ourselves under the boot - or, rather, mukluk - of the Canadian Conspiracy...
