1992 dodge cummins

can someone briefly describe the fuel system in the this aftercooled first gen? Meaning, from the tank to the fuel filter on the engine, what is there to contend with?

I have recently purchased said vehicle and am having problems with the fuel system.

i need to know if there is an in tank pump, that leads to the injector pump, an in line pump, etc.

i can and certainly will buy the manual, but im looking to find out what others here have experienced.
