I've had a 140 for about 7 years now and I have welded a LOT of metal with it. Like was mentioned previously, the 1/4" tolerance is about all it wants before hitting duty cycle rather quickly. It will stack some pretty nice beads though. I still own the machine and all of my welding equipment in my shop is currently Hobart. The 140 still has been transitioned to a flux core machine for portability, I stepped up to a Hobart 210 for the garage work, and my Plasma cutter is an Airforce 700i and there is no doubt in my mind that I have literally cut miles of steel with it as it gets used primarily on my small CNC plasma table.
