Spring too fat?

No, they are not expected to shut tight, they are expected to leak. So no rubber seal parts.

But that spring does look pretty heavy. When assembled, you should be able to shake the valve, and hear the plunger rattle.

Can anybody else post a pic for comparison? Or measure a spring for comparison? Size of wire, diameter of coils, number of turns, and length of spring?
