Merry Christmas all!
We left Thursday morning and 1725 miles later arrived about halfway down the Keys. We are at a small hotel on the beach, and will be here through Christmas. Wednesday we head a bit North to Deerfield Beach Florida, just above Ft. Lauderdale to meet up with Joans Brothers and Mother. Heading back to the Frozen Northern Wastelands New Years Day.
Didnt see any old Dodges on the way South, but did notice a few of the new Nissan cargo vans, look from the rear like a shorter Sprinter, but in the front have a full hood.
At one point, barreling along on I95, I glanced in my rearview mirror at the exact right time to see the SUV behind me lose the lid to his rooftop carrier. Pretty dramatic to see, and their stuff getting sucked out into the wind. Felt bad for them as they were on their vacation too. We used to have one of them, I never trusted the little plastic latches on it and always had a couple of ratchet straps around it too.
Well, got to get ready for a grueling day of hanging around on a beach, eating seafood and consuming frosty adult beverages. Its tough work but someones got to do it!
