I have talked to a mechanic who worked the dyno room at white motor truck.He said the best and least destrucktive to stop a run away is a C O2 fire extinguisher.Reason being the Co2 carbon dioxide displces the oxyegen and surpresses combustion and does no harm to in the inside of the motor.A twenty pounder is cheap insurance to carry in a diesil plus obvious reasons fire junoir copey ps sorry about the spelling I aint no rocket scientist
