That's one of the thoughts I had. I have a firefighters SCBA mask and I used to SCUBA dive, so I have a tank and regulator. The problem there is having to refill the tank. I would guess a tank would last about an hour.
I don't think a cascade system would be necessary since you can pull an individual tank down to just about zero.
Anyway, thanks everyone for the input. The school shooting kind of puts our everyday problems into perspective.
