Dad came of age mid-war. Joined the Navy, He was coxswain on Landing Craft, finished out the Pacific. Did the same job in Korea and was awarded The Bronze Star because, while under fire, he refused to leave the beach until his boat was full of wounded Marines. RIP Dad.
