you have a bunch of heads with exactly the same thickness, no? so I would speculate that they have never been milled. these heads do not require milling very often. I have only HAD to mill one but have milled many others to raise compresion. machine shops when milling just to flatten it out do not take off more than necessary. manytimes .010 is plenty to clean it up. I know they do it that way because if they have to take off more or you request them too they charge more for every extra .010 they remove
