Yes, but that stuff is made for use on lead, not copper. I have a couple gallons I got at a yard sale and it's basically copper sulfate, nitric and sulfuric acids (diluted). If you have some sitting around, it can't hurt to try, but in general, acid will clean all the oxide off of copper and brighten it up, rather than the reverse.
