If your looking, tires pop quite often for sale, both new and used. I've bought two and a half full sets of used tires since April of this year with OTD ranging 50% to 100% for $100 each. Just keep in mind, the XL's are a low mileage tire designed for 20% on-road and 80% off-road use, spending a lot for them, may not be the wise thing to do. I've found them new from non-Michelin tire dealers at $475 each with no guarantee because they are beyond there self life, and that's more than I want to spend. They are supposidly regroovable and that will get you another 25% use out of them.

They look and ride great, but that takes some work. PW rims and tires are not perfectly round so you have to mount on the rim, mount on the hub, spin the tire around and find your low spot, mark, then demount the tire and mount it 180 dgrees around the rim to correct the out of round condition or have the tires shaved. I use 8ozs. of stainless steel balancing beads in each tube with no external weights and that really smooths the ride out. You can use Miller's black tire paint to give an old tire a nice black satin finish, that looks great and will not wash off with water.
