The knuckles really need to be opened up and inspected. Especially check the welds on the top and bottom trunnion pins. I helped a freind do his knuckles. We found a cracked weld on the top left trunnion pin. I remember not to long ago someone here on this forum found a cracked or broken trunnion pin. If those pins fail, you can/will loose that knuckle/wheel/steering/braking ( on a single chamber master cylinder). Take the time to do a real inspection/rebuild. Its all for your safety and the safety of others. Once she is up to par, in your life time, you should not ever have to pull the knuckle again. These PWs/WC/M37/PG and others are tough truck, but in many cases they have not always had proper maintenance. They are old iron that needs inspection of everything, especially the Steering/Brakes and suspension
