the faster and usually a bit less expensive way to get almost the same gain in top speed is to switch to 11.00 x 16 tires. makes the interstate driving much more relaxing and less people drive by with the one finger salute. th NW is mountainous and I prefer the 5.83s out in that environment. I had a WC56 with 4.89s and a 2 speed tcase nad it was not as easy to manuever in the tricky situations. 5.83s and low range is almost like offroading an automatic trans.
