Depends on what you're going to do with your truck. I have never regretted putting them in my '53. It'll do 60 mph if you don't care about the negine revving 3000 rpm. I run 53-55 at about 2700. I work mine a little bit, go on trails once in a while, pulled a sled at last years rally and still wouldn't want 5.83's. I highly reccomend them. Roy
