That looks exactly like the one on my W200 which is a '67 so makes sense. I have had it all apart although it has been a dozen years. Other than turning on the light, all it does is distribute the brake fluid so basically just a T. It MAY, as Chris said, shut off the fluid on one side if you have a leak but didn't appear to me like it would. Front and rear are completely separate IRC.
