1. If the engine has not been refreshed, I strongly suggest you check the distribution tube. These rust out and results in the engine overheating, nows a good time to check it.
2. Clean loose rust off parts and use a heavy coat of Rustoleum rusty metal primer (7769) in shaker can to coat any engine parts you want to paint, then use silver as top coat. If you don't use the primer rust comes through fairly quickly. The primer will keep your parts looking nice. Orchard Hardware Supply silver (225414) in shaker can is nice paint to use. Where you live, this is important.
3. Engine is silver, intake manifold, semi-gloss black, no paint on exhaust. Elbows silver as well.
