The only downside is the cost. In open mode, they would be great on road - just as Dodge designed it. As for off road, that is more of a judgement call. Have you ever been in a four wheel drive vehicle and been spinning one tire on the front axle and one on rear axle? It can be very frustrating and to some of us, down right embarrassing. I remember a particular farm auction a few years ago with a new Chevy 4x4 Dually stuck in a flat, muddy field. I got a good laugh, anyway.
There is a certain Boy Scout characteristic to most Power Wagon owners - in order to be prepared, give me that winch, and hey a belt pulley would be good, you just never know, and on and on list goes. If that is you, then these lockers just might fit the bill.
