Yep, a lathe would be the way to do it if you are doing production. But, you can get a new left hand tap in about any pitch in that size range for about $10.00. It might take a couple weeks to get it direct from China.

If you bought a length of tubing, hopefully of the right ID and OD, and you would be in business. You would, of course, thread the tubing before you cut it to length. So, holding it is no problem.

Not really saying this is the way to do it. Just saying that you couldn't push too hard on price. And, how many could you be expected to sell?

The connecting rod bolts on the old Cadillac flat head engines were very unique. You could probably charge whatever you wanted if you were making them. Nobody's going to make one of them at home, or even in an ordinary machine shop.
