My 1968 parts manual shows the same radiator cap still in use that was first listed in the 1953 Supercedence list. This replaced the one that had been used since 1946. Interesting stuff. It does not say if the new one was pressurized or not, just that the old one was no longer a valid number.

Personally, I have never had any problem, as they seem to run at the correct temperature without a pressurized cap. If someone is experiencing overheating then I would view a pressurized cap as a bandaid fix covering up underlying problems. But, I have never driven in temperatures much above 100 degrees either.
