a few ideas re your problems
1. go to home page tech specs print off wire
diagram for your truck then make sure all is
correct (coil polarity re chris's post)
2. see if you can locate a shop in your area
that still has a "Sun" dist machine; if you
can then pull your dist (make note of rotor
position) and take it in to get checked and
set up.
then after re-installing the dist it would be
a good idea to check the compression all an
engine needs is compression, spark, & fuel
