If you have an electric fuel pump, you can use blue silicone wires. If you have an authentic mechanical fuel pump, you should use authentic wires covered with tar-soaked cotton. And be sure your battery has a hard rubber, rather than polyethylene case, and the connections from each cell are brought out the top of the case and connected to the adjacent cell with burned lead bus bars. Modern electricity is different than the old electricity used to be, and if you mix them, you're asking for trouble.
