Thanks for the concern. Lots of wind earlier but at 22:23 it seems as though it's over.
I was in a number of hurricanes in the past and this one turned west far enough south of us before major damage out east. Big swells and record tides, with the wind made for a fair amount of marine damage.
We were lucky....again. Southern Jersey really took the brunt of it. I hope all of the New Jersey coastal inhabitants are OK.
Montauk was the best prepared that I have ever seen. The new highway superintendant filled all of the beach openings with sand to help prevent the high tides from hitting the low lieing areas...funny in 50 years here no one ever took that precaution before.
Again thankfully we have escaped another big one.
