Ok, makes MUCH more sense. The tab goes UNDER the BOTTOM of the cross members, not INSIDE the bottom of the cross member!!!!.

Now he does show two different beds, in one, the bolts in the strips line up across the bed, in the other, they are staggered. So that helps alot too.

Thanks Paul, Ive seen that page before, but forgot all about it for me doing this now
